Lets pack-off at 5..

One more "prick-your-wallet" day zooms and thankfully, I found my bank balance intact at the End of the day/night. Well..what more to say, the first fortnight of Feb has been publicised to such an extent, that one of the Survey has published that it is the second costliest Affair in India after Diwali. Thanks to our very own industry.

I cannot think of these Valentines or the weekend fever, during my school/college days. These days, every person treats you on a monday morning as "How was your weekend?". Nevertheless to say Fridays are always filled with "Pre-Weekend" hungama.

Lovers Day, this year was a bit different to me. My Manager came to my desk around 3 pm, and said "Lets wrap-it off at 5". I was totally jonked to hear this. I felt the project module which was to be designed by me, had to be delivered within 2 hours. I said a firm "NO". Stunned by my reaction, he got totally psyched and with a firm tone said "Lets move out of office by 5". His tone was like "I am our manager, do what I say". Needless to say, I was ecstatic to hear that. Now, I being a sincere sub-ordinate, packed off at 5 sharp :-).

The very next day, the whole team was up for a surprise stand-off Meeting. We were asked to write down what we intended to do and what we did, the previous evening. This had to be sent through mail. Brain cells of myn started asking why should we share our personal thougths with others. But then, he wasnt asking with whom, what, how details. It was just a soft-skill exercise. Now, I being very sincere in writing mails, shot-off this to my manager:

Things intended to do:
NILL. (By experience these kind of “celebrations”, gives an opportunity to the opposite Sex to prick into your wallet. This should not be entertained until and unless they are your long-term prospects and hold strong intimate emotions for YOU and only YOU. Although, I have very great friends who are girls, not of Valentine kinds :-) )

Things done:
Enjoyed my evening with family at home and slept long hours after lot of days. Thanks to your early pack-up directive.

Albeit, after all the subtlety of a female, I still look for MY LADY. This ones for you, where ever you are, However you are, one fine day you will be my Valentine forever :

Some pray to marry the lady they love,
my prayer will somewhat vary:
I humbly pray to Heaven above
that I love the lady I marry.
