Physical assault and Murder of a woman working in a prestigious BPO company based out of Bangalore, has completely shattered the image of a city, which took pride in terming itself the BPO CAPITAL(safest) of India. This incident will surely send out a totally negative image of the city. BPO Career-aspiring female youngsters will now think "n" times to take up this Career or their close kins would surely make them do it.

There could be many such "BPO-related" incidents: mid-night robberies, unwanted intimate talks etc., Should the big BPO companies take the reponsibility or the local administration or leave it to the people who undergo the trauma?

The rash-driving of the BPO cab-drivers has always been a concern, esp., on Hosur Road, which leads to an array of BPO companies. And to multiply to traffic woes, Companies which give the cab drivers a very tight schedule to pick up their employees. Night-Driving is not anymore safe in Bangalore with the increasing number of BPO "Sumos". Some of the Cabs dont even display the org anisationNames. Utmost few of these displaying a BIG alphabet. Isnt this at the earnest of the Company? And the placard which they specify about Rash-Driving, GOD alone knows if the numbers in them exists or is properly monitored. Shouldnt the respective RTO take notice of this ?

Does company-Operations verify before giving these Transport contracts to the "trusted authorised" agents ? And if any sort of cost-cutting schemes are brought in such contracts, for sure, Bangalore is up for more such heinous acts. This disgraced act could open up a plethora of shortcomings in the working of a BPO company.

Hope this is the last of such incidents to be heard. And it acts as an alarm to the companies to look into their Transport policies and implement them at the sole interest of safeguarding their employees. After all, employees are the moolah for all the "bottom-line" and "top-line" of these companies.

The Protests being held by all the BPO employees at Bangalore should send out a clear message to the concerned authorities and the guilty should be punished. Hope GOD provides all the strength/power to come-out of this to the family/friends of the deceased.

Paks, definitely this event has sent out shock waves across the city. It a coffee table chat for everyone here.

There are various factors for increasing crime rate here. some of them is increased gap between the "rich" and the "poor", Bangalore's proximity to neighbouring states, "culture change", increased number of "jobs" - white collered to auto drivers. ANyone who gets into the city can definitely make a substantial living by hook or crook!!

I guess its the responsibility of the company(in authorizing the transport infra.), we the people(as voters and "wage workers" ) as well as thouroughly failed government(here interms of security & infra.).
