Thought of a Marathon.....
Continued abscence from this space has been linked with work or negligence to blog using my personal laptop. The latter seems to be the answer most times.
Yesterday, browsing (read Orkutting) stumbled on one of those profiles which expects much more than ogling at the "Pictures" link :-). Thats only because as they say: Picture conveys thousand(s) words ;-)
This individual has quit a decent-plush job from a MNC and now wants to be a full-fledged entrepreneur. She resigns running behind her dream and joins a management course for new enterpreneurs. The amount of experience she has (as I estimate) in IT field could be very miniscule(me thinks) to even think of the head-count for her enterprise. Crazy idea aint it ? Only crazy heads (read no brains) can think of these whacky stuff. And yours truly has one of those head.
Or else, how would you explain a professional who was enjoying happily, growing with the company thinks of quitting outright and joins a petty not-so-renowned small-startup. This happens not just once but twice. Thankfully, my current signature is worthy enough to eb noted across the world. Even the closest person I know, who has seen me from close quarters for the past 4.5 years, quips to one of our common friend "pakku duffer is an intelligent fellow but in the wrong direction". Till date, I wonder why the individual never told me this directly. May be she was right :-). Let me park that aside for this post.
Coming back to the crux of the post, about an enterprise, being an entrepreneur- I always wished to be one. Always wished, never ever worked in that direction. Thats the harsh truth :-(

Last week chatting with my jeeju, he wanted me to act in that thought-flow. Having been a part of that process himself, started his yadaa-yadaa-yaadaa. When he was lecturing me over the phone, I was thinking of which female actor should be the face of my company. Also, what kind of female voice should adorn the Automatic response system of the enterprise. *just kidding*
Seriously, having spent almost 4 years in services-based industry, wish to step onto this "I-OWN-A-Company" bandwagon. Yep, its an uphill task. Thought of that magnitude, at this stage of my career can be fatal. Moreso for a person who has become so complacent about corporate field these days.
My personal laptop has become one movie database. You could even see my statusline in YIM/Gtalk reciting movie dialogues. The boy who ran away from movies, now wants to watch every movie irrespective of the language. The boy who was more interested to listen to PC's bottomline-topline funda, now thinks of curvy lines. The boy who thronged to read CHIP/DIGITAL magazines, wants to surf movie portals. Blame it to Media ;-)
Few of my senior peers in US own their company. To be frank, they have done it for sheer passion to amass wealth/fulfilling their dreams. Whenever I read their mails, signed as Alpha-beta-Gamma, CEO of Sine-Cos-Theta, there is a sense of envy (read carefully its not jealousy), uneasiness within. The uneasiness of not going behind my dream. The uneasiness of sticking to safer-happier-monthly-salary route. The uneasiness of losing the enthu so early in life.
Parking aside all the above negative vibes, I feel/hope that there is enough fuel to achieve what I think of, seeing my past track record. High time I steady myself on the start line to run the grand marathon. Could someone blow the whistle please ?

Before starting off....improve your stamina. If you think you already have done so...then go ahead. No one wins on the first run. If this seems to be a cross-sahara marathon...I am sure several attempts are defintely needed. Not to ignore the mental strength as well. ATB!
