me and myself

The mechanical routine stuff going through my life for the last few days, made me feel kind of retarded over the weekend. I spent the whole of Saturday, drooling over what was wrong. Actually, could not figure out why the enthu had dipped down to an extent known to my self.

Well, it was just those odd day when you feel cranked in this mechanical world and you realize the best thing todo is come out of it by your own deeds. If it were to be in Bangalore, I would kick straight into any of the temple I frequent or have a power-rendezvous with my pals at our adda. Neither of them is readily available in Singapore. The best thing out of Bangalore is to visit a beach alone and try to refresh in the process.

Frankly speaking, I had never seen a beach till I grew up to my 23rd year, although I take pride in being a person from the coastal district of Mangalore. The first time I felt the serene nature of the blue-water was that of Miss.Pacific. Buoy, wasn’t I thrilled to just try to find the other side of the lady. I was so carried away that I sat there for almost 3 hours alone staring away to glory at the sedate waters, although the San Diego beach wasn’t clean and it was very populated over the weekend. Well, who cares for the external entities, while you’re immersed in your self.

From then on, I developed this craze of visiting beaches when in need of a revitaliser. Somehow I feel it works wonders to my spirits. Yesterday too, although I could not find a good beach kind of place (well its just 2 odd months in SG), but I could atleast sit beside the waters near the backwaters of the sea. The sight of serenely dwindling waters in their own axis, talking with their neighboring waves, dancing to the tunes of wind, laughing hard and spilling it out. Well, certain things are better felt than expressed.

While I sat enjoying being alone over the banks, the couple roaming around wanted to be clicked. The only single soul had to forcefully do a “say-cheese” to make the pair smile. Hopefully, the snaps come good, or else I would feel guilty of my negative energy propogating to the snap.

The lone moments spent relinquishing the good times spent with family, dear friends, people whom I haven’t met-but still grin when I think of them, embarrassing moments at work which makes me laugh at myself , moments of glory in my career so far, crushes, friends: legpulling-laughter-arguments-fights-rootna-phir-manaana-phir rootnaa……. Well, I could just feel all those in those 2 odd hours spent. The cool breeze providing a soothing effect to my facial skin, which inturn would dig deep through the pores of my skin and settling down in my fist-size heart, thumping moments of regaining the vital energizer for yet another “typical” week at work. Whilst I spent the whole evening there, but for the heavy showers, I had to run back to my abode. Nevertheless, I had a chance to sit there for those precious moments and myself kicking out.

Its been said, in a nice-joyful company, any individual would get back to terms, but sometimes digging your mental strength makes you feel more stronger at the end of it.

What a sluggish-sombre post on a Monday morning, apologies though, couldn’t help but posting it.

As I wait for my “gang of four” (well its now 3, as I am away from them), to post their travelogues on their maiden trip to jungle-lodge resort, I can only envy them for they plan all these stuff, when I am not at home. Damn you duffers!! Nodkothinooo nimmanna, modluu photos kalsii, amele sketch haaki… moooru janaana deal maadthini … hushaarrr!!!

Mayaaa

Last weekend, in KL, I had my first rendezvous with discotheques. I am still not able to digest that I really did enter a place where there is more carcinogenic air compared to oxygen. Anyways, I did enjoy it, although happily sitting in a couch and pegging my colleagues to dance more vibrantly, while happily sipped my drink.

Well, I did not have the courage to hit the dance floor. But, truly enjoyed the people who were dancing to the tune. And the tunes played there were truly in sync with disco genre. Now, KL being a truly asian culture, it had a mix of bhangra too. That is when you feel your adrenaline oozing out. Well, I am a desi after all.

While, my friends sweated it out on dance floor, my eyes fell over two young girls who were dancing like professional-disco-going-class of people. They had the rhythm, quality, genuineness, elegance, charisma to rock the dance floor. While they danced to glory, they made sure that guys did not mingle with them. well.. guys will be guys. Dont we take pride of it !!!They were single on dance floor, but not ready to mingle. May be because, they did not feel others were not as good as themselves.

They danced hard, rested, had a drink and again back to the floor. They were really cute and mature kinds. Wait... hang on, saccchi mein I was not ogling at them. I was just analysing them :D. While, I enjoied their rhytmic dance, punctuated by pegging my baawyzz, I started thinking of maayaa. Finally, I have decided to name the gal of my imagination. No.. its been a long time I watched Dil to pagal hai. Maayaa...a simple gal with an eloquent smile, innoscence of a kid, attitude of being a DAMSEL......

finally.. weekend is at thedoorstep and i am inherently smiling. Well.. the last few days I have been watching Fanaa so many times just for the shayaarii.. while i try to recite it, I am totally missing the rhythm... but for this two...

paani se pyaas na bhuji tho mehkaani par chalaa..
sochhha ki tumhari shikayat karoo khudaa se...
wohh bhi tumhaaraa aashiq niklaaa.

phool hoon gulab kaa, chameli kaa mat samjhnaa
aaishiq hu aapka, apni saheli kaa mat samjhnaaa

mayaaaa .. are you listening ?

Have a nice weekend guyss....

MY Trip

It has been quite a while, I updated this space, courtesy my current workload at office. Last fortnight has been the most happening times of recent past. Let me take few moments to pen down my feelings before I lose track.

Thanks to abscence of one of the Tech Architect here, I was handed over an added responsibility of coming up with an arch. design. This paved way for a kind of work, which I used to think of at the personal acumen level but was never involved in an official enterprise level. So, the design was given a go-ahead. And the very next day, I had to take the flight to KL. Yep Kualalampur, Malaysia(MY). Just like they say, it was like GODs were conspiring for me to goto MY.

As was thought off, the official trip was a strenously packed stuff. I had to just mentally prepare for such an outing and so I was. But, never did I dream of what was in store until I started working in KL.

KL, which takes pride as the Worlds Best Airport (in 15M-25 M p.a passenger category) was true to its glory. Since I had taken the early morning 6 am flight, I had to rush back to my hotel room and then to office. S0, bid adieus thinking that I shall surely embrace the airport when I fly back to SG. The journey from airport to my hotel room was smooth without any hassles and everything was on time till then.

My company had booked a room in Le Meridian- one of the top-notch Hotel suites in KL. The greedy I am about the sky-scrapers, ordered the Reception for a room in the top floors of the hotel. Well, although they made me wait for an hour, true to their fame, I got what I want.

Just imagine, the view overlooking the Petronas Twin towers in the horizon and the likes of Menara, National Parliament, National Library with the 4-lane roads defining the borders. woww, the awesum view is just etched onto my brain cells.

Well, the next 3 days, I did not even get a chance to open the window curtains, thanks to the packed up work schedule. The whole fun of staying in such a place was lost :-(. One more thing which I miss is the "jumbo" breakfast. Well, I may need one more blogpost to list down the savouries:-)

The shortened weekend had me step into the DISCO for the first time in my life. The person who felt disc is always for Page3 people was now one among them. More on this in my next post. The rain-GODs tried best to stop me from visitng to Petronas towers, but thanks to my MY colleagues we made it. And we did it in style. Yep, let me this also in my next.

Now, it would be true injustice if I do not mention about the people I was associated with in KL.

* S, manager for MY operations. Well, she was a real sport. Contrary to her designation, she just mingled with us like just another gal. She stayed with us late night just for moral reasons. Albeit, her bad cold, she accompanied us over weekend fun. Buoy, you truly deserve an sensuous applause for your down-to-earth attitude. True model for those typical attitude females. One personal comment- contrary to her designation, she looks like a typical college-going girl. You know why, she loves fruits way too much :-)

* NK, the funny chap in the group. He has the ability to prick your humour nerves with any subject. He is just too good. Even around 1 in midnight, the office-floor could echo our laughter. This is what they call fun-at-work. Thanks to him, I had my first rendezvous with disc. You rock buddy! Keep smiling

* RM, the cool, smart, well-built guy in the team. He just thrives on his charisma. Too good a person to be missed out in a fun-group like us. Yep, he rocked the dance floor.

Although, I spent few days with them, but I missed them badly yesterday. Anways, life has to go on, it is just that some people automatically get etched onto us.
cheerios.. more in my next post

One More terror date added into history..

Last few days, has been damn hectic at work and thanks to that, been reaching home only after 9.30pm. That is a bit of over-time, considering that we start work from 8.30 AM with just 1 break for lunch. Yesterday, when I went back home and switched on BBC, I could only feel my nerves shaking. Without even changing, started calling my jeeju. Unfortunately, the OFC cables were not happy with me. And they did not let me speak to my jeeju, who works in mumbai. Finally, when I did connect ....

Me : jeeju, encha ullara? (jeeju, How are you?)

Jeeju: yaen sowkhya ulla maaraya, jaalaa yochne bothrii. Nariman Point ge yaerla bomb padiyarae appurii.... (I am fine, Dont Worry. No one can bomb Nariman Point)..In his gracious best

Me : Great.. begaa illadae piddaadlae. Usha Kaathondu uppalaa (Great. Move fast Home. Usha(my sis) is eagerly waiting)

jeeju : Yaen betthae call malpuvee. kelsa unduu, late aapunduu (I will call u later as I am busy)

..........

Well, if I were to be in his place, I would have just taken a cab and gone home. Sometimes wonder, if all the work in this world is pounded to Customs clearing officers!! But seriously speaking, the amount of work-pressure he handles at work is incomparable to the IT work, even if it were to be any South-east country like Singapore.

While I felt a sense of breather, suddenly, my mind shook to those people who were suffering. Such an atrocious act on common man !!

The kind of city, Mumbai is, they will pounce back hard and fast. In future, central government should take extra care in the month of July , esp for Mumbai. Last year, if it was natural disaster in form of torrential rains, this year, its human made disaster. Mumbaikars, hope you are bestowed with extreme power to handle this situation and come out of it at the earliest. Else, India would eb standstill.

CNN, was broadcasting CNN-IBN channel allover, to get more insights into the incidents. No need to mention, Rajdeep Sardesai, was more keen on publicising that his reporter was present live when incidents took place. And, they were the first to report it on air. Huhhhh... damn him.. even in those grieving hours, he wanted his TRP ratings. Damn you, Rajdeep, you are not the same after coming out of NDTV. Damn all those TRP frenzy Media-Channel-WAR

And our federal government wants to have a "emergency" meeting after the incidents. Maybe, they had to decide on the relief amount based on "Quota System". huhhhh...After 2 hours of meeting, our "weak" PM gives a statement reassuring that our Defence artillery are there for display ONLY. High time we deliver the goods using them.

ps : Within 12 hours of terror attacks , Mumbai is BACK. YOU people ROCK!!! Amchii Mumbai

Cinematic Weekend

Parthiban Kanavu (Dreams of Parthiban), Hum Tum, Sukran, Style, Alaipayuthey, Dalapathi, Hera Pheri, Mumbai se aaya mera Dost, Kalyug, Captain Vijayakanths sucker

No, I am not listing down the upcoming movies on TV this week. The above are the movies with which I got entertained over the weekend. Truly a cinematic weekend! While I drooled over Snehas' eyes in Parthiban kanavu, Hum Tum brought back my sweet memoirs with my kothi-colleague, stunning dialogue delivery by Vijay in Sukran, pathetic comic scenes in Style, Alaipayuthey- my word repo is not as rich t0 describe this classic, favourite thalaiva rocked the screen as Dalapathi- courtesy Mani, comical genius of Paresh rawal in Hera Pheri, pathetic Lara in Mumbai se..., brain-cell sucker in one of those Vijaykanth movie and finally signed off with lovely songs in Kalyug.

Well, I did not watch them completely but for a few favourites. Just goes to show, how a lazy goon like me can spend the weekend, heating up the sofa. I shall rather complain it on the gloomy pathetic weather in this place.

As a matter of fact, I was never a movie freak. I had watched only 2 movies in theatre until I started my IT career. One at the age of 2 and other around 10. The former I do not remember and the latter do not want to mention. Yeah, it was a kasturi kannadada kanmani Rajkumar starrer "Akasmika" :-(. But, then I felt Annavru is the Best and had the feeling of watching an epic :-).

Less or no interest in movie-watching was bcoz we were brought up in an environment, where movie-watching was a crime at early stages of our education. Truly so!! Seriously, have to thank my parents for that. If I were to be a movie bluff in my early days, wonder if I would have reached this level. It is a different thing that I spent those hours in the cricket ground:-). Well, with cricket you atleast get some physical experience, with movies you only remember the oomph factor (hehehehe not always though). Even to this days, I make sure that I do not go to theatres for Night show. Oops, now the pervert minds, dont start commenting on this!! An act for which my p3a juntaa, acclaims it as girlie. Damn, who cares!!

But of late, it is a totally different pakku. The madness which started with Aishwaryas stunner in HDDCS, raw talent of Kajol in Dushman, the exuberating energy of Shahrukh, acting prowess of Rani, then cutting across language barriers to Thalaiva Rajnikanths sheer mass-entertainers , or for that one gorgeous smile of average-looking Trisha (making me go bizarre, as I googled for her email ID and when I got one-duffer she did not respond back :-( ), her chirpiness in Nuvvasthanantae...., her raw beauty in Varsham or Ghilli, Cutie Madhavan in Alaipayuthey, rollicking dance sequences of Simran, Vijays sheer larger-than-human image, Surya's killer instincts in Kaakha Kaakha, evergreen Ramyakrishna in Padayappa, sheer celluloiod prescence of Soundarya, Snehas eyes which says it all, our own Anniyan Vikram Saamy, Bangaram Pavan, Pokiri Athadu Maheshbabu...to top it all Devraja Sahay of BLACK ..huhh the list never ends. Please note that I have started watching movies in the past year or so.

Just Imagine, what I would be if I were to watch movies from my childhood days. Grateful to myself, that I did not do so.

Well, for the people who are thinking me as an utter waste-dumb-goodfornothing-lazy beanbag, I do have a corporate identity. Oops! I cannot reveal it here though (as if I am the next Shiv Nadar in the making *evilish grin*)

Other than the movies, I did prepare Chicken Biriyani at home with my friend. But, yeah before I started cooking, I could only reminisce Smiling Girls blogpost and max I could do was to say "Sorry lady" to myself :-(.

The below words just imbibed some instinct to start-off the week in style:

"Content makes poor men rich; discontentment makes rich men poor. If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins."
Benjamin Franklin, 1706 - 1790

Ripples of passionate love..

The goneby week had its own ingredients of getting etched into my brain cells. Started off as just another week and ended up with a pinch of success and an urge to do more. Getting an oppurtunity to play with the customers production environment has its own thrill. Getting to setup such a time critical production environment is too good an experience. Worth a mention in this place.

After a tiring yet an interesting week, just wanted to chill the weekend. But, still was looking out for that true entertainer which could act as a catalyst reenergising myself for the coming week. While saturday, went off with a tussle-chat with my friend, on how aamir khan would have avoided Fanaa. Well, it was truly interesting chat conversation. Add to that, I being a person who never publicises aamir with a lady who just goes fida over him. Finally, had to relent though :(

Clippings of
Alaipayuthey, had me go crazy for my all-time favourite movie was being aired on TV. The crazy fanatic I am for a Mani-Rahman combi, was eagerly waiting for it, as I had watched the Hindi version and not the original. So finished all the weekend stuff like groceries shopping, cooking and was all set for the show time. True to its glory, it was truly an entertainer of the highest level. Even after 6-7 years of its creation, it has the charisma of sending ripples through your heart. Well the magic of Mani-Rahman is always eternal.

Amidst watching the passionate movie it is, my brain cells were compounded with some weird thoughts:

- Why are gals so protective about their guy, and when it is the same on guys front, grils cribb for their space. Aint it unfair ?

- Can a gal get so passionate as Sakthi, the intelligent brainy Doc getting in love with a porukii
yet-smart guy like Karthik. Well, I would really love to be in his shoes, provided the socks are clean ... yikes bad joke :-)

- Are all married life journey as sweet and creamy as it has been portrayed?

- Is true love so easy to find ? Aftermath of the movie, was thinking of going back to my place, and attending lots of marriage functions.. kya pata Suhaani yaa Sakthi wahin kahinn ho..No no, I am not so desperate. I can wait for a few more years :-)

One more concept of Mani to portray a Doc-SE relationship was too cute. The whole concept to portray that the passion for love can just touch any individual, be it educated smart or good-for-nothing people is mind-blowing.

Before I go drroling over the movie, let me come back to my world. Amidst the work, got to watch Superman Returns. Yeah it was a IMAX experience. But, never did I feel, I was watching an IMAX movie. The San Diego IMAX experience still lingers and truly so. Now, may be the movie was not worth an IMAX experience. Above that, the movie is not at par with the expectations. I could rather got to KRIISSH for a third showing. The movie could be avoided if you are not a avid fan of Superman.

Few more weekend hours to go with lots of movies lined up. I cannot go and play cricket as the weather is very gloomy, the remaining hours could well be a true theatre experience at home.

enjoii maadii King-Size ...juntaa please cheer for zizou and federer :-)

adios and cheerios...

Cometh the Hour, Cometh THE WALL

Weekend was not much to brag-off, but for the oo-maa-hee. Bored of the pathetic 2 days I had, the crazy mind in me, planned for a sunday late-night show of Krissh. Yeah, it was my second innings! While, juntaa around were eagerly envisioning the SuperHero in Hrithik, I punctuated their ohh-waah-woww-haaa with my critical acclaims. Thats the fun of watching the much-hyped movie twice, you can just tear it apart into pieces. Above all, if you have a so-called glam-doll called Priyanka, its an icing on the cake for the comments.

As I watched Germany go one step forward towards their WC glory, totally wept with the Becks and Socceros :-(. Brazil, you need a relook. The Samba did not work Ronaldhino. Kudos to Zizou and his team. He is the MAN, watch OUT guys!! Now that, the World Cup has transformed into Euro Cup, I hope Germany wins the WC, just for the hard-working, never-say-die person in Klinsmann.

After long sleepy boring weekend, amidst all the work on monday morning, the most enthrallling moment was when I read "Rahul Dravid steers India to Test Series victory" on rediff. Ghosshh!! I could just feel the kid in me jumping out and cheering Rahul... Rahul... Rahul. Felt like flying down to Windies and congratulating our bawysss.. Well Done!!. And this space, surely deserves a place for you. No need to give the statistical details, as any crick freak would know, what abroad test series victory is all about for Indian Cricket!!

The Man of the moment, none other than our Bangalore boy, Rahul Sharad Dravid. Take a bow juntaa!! Keep going dude. You truly make us proud. The Wall never crumbles, it just gets stronger and stronger. For all those cheap people who tested his patience/perseverance, when he visited the so-called biggest cricket ground in India, hope you guys now realise the GENIUS in him.
Eternally blessed is the Indian Cricket, for being blessed with a Gentleman like YOU. Keep Rocking!!
